Every year, the Dutch Team Jumbo-Visma needs to wear a special team shirt during the Tour de France. The usual team shirt, yellow with black accents, is indeed too similar to the Yellow jersey worn by the leader of the general classifications and during the French Grand Tour a solution thus needs to be found in the form of a specific team jersey.
The team could have simply develop a specific team shirt and wear that every year for the Tour, but instead of that, the team chose for a surprise and originality in every edition of the Grande Boucle. The team with its new sponsor will continue where Team Europcar stopped and according to Jean-René Bernaudeau (manager of the team) the main goal of the professional team of the "Vendée Cyclisme" structure remains to have fun.

We already knew since October 2014 that Europcar would stop its sponsoring of the team with the same name at the end of 2015. We thus knew that, after having found Europcar as a last minute new sponsor after Bouygues Télécom left the team, Jean-René Bernaudeau again had to find a new sponsor in a bit less than one year, in order to have its file ready for the 2016 registration.

Like every year, there will be some changes in the sponsors of the Tour de France again this year. Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.) already announced its partnership with Dimension Data just before Paris-Nice, but there will be quite some other changes. And the most awaited announcement was of course the one for the sponsor of the green jersey since the moment PMU announced it would stop sponsoring it.

On the 20th of April the former Dutch riders Erik Breukink, Michael Boogerd and Jean-Paul van Poppel announced, together with Michael Zijlaard (the husband of Leontien van Moorsel), their will to set up a new, completely Dutch, cycling team, with the name "Orange Cycling".

While Tom Dumoulin (Team Giant-Shimano) today won the individual time trial in the Eneco Tour, the team announced that it had found it's main sponsor!

We now have less than 3 weeks to go before the Tour de France 2014 starts in Yorkshire, more precisely in Leeds. The riders of the Tour will thus ride on the roads of England, France and Belgium in order to connect Leeds to Paris in 3,663.5 kilometers.
Doing so, they'll come by huge numbers of fans, cyclign fans, Tour de France fans or in some cases even only fans of the advertising caravan which animates the roads of the Tour between one and two hours before the race! You'll thus be around 12 million to see the Tour come by on the side of the road!
