Jonathan Tiernan-Locke wins the Tour du Haut Var 2012 by winning the 2nd stage!
Under a bright and sunny sky, the second stage of the 44th edition of the Tour du Haut Var took place between Fréjus and Fayence today and even more hillier roads than yesterday. Today, the breakaway didn't manage to stay ahead until the finsih and in the end it was Jonathan Tiernan-Locke who not only won the stage but also his second general classification in only one week, after the Tour Med! Romain Hardy wins the first stage of the Tour du Haut Var-Matin 2012
The first stage of the Tour du Haut Var took place today between Draguignan and La Croix-Valmer. This stage was won by Romain Hardy who thus will start in Fréjus tomorrow wearing the yellow jersey!
The summary of the first stage of the Tour du Haut Var 2012 : Draguignan > La Croix-Valmer
Almost right from the start of the stage in Draguignan, a breakaway was formed and this leading group finally contained 7 riders: Romain Hardy (Bretagne-Schuller), Clément Koretzky (La Pomme Marseille), Angel Madrazo (Movistar Team), Rubens Bertogliati (Team Type 1-Sanofi), Anthony Colin (Roubaix-Lille Métropole), Hugo Houle (Spidertech powered by C10) and Sylvain Georges (AG2R La Mondiale).

A stage animated by Jérémy Roy, won by Julien Antomarchi in the Tour du Haut Var 2011
In the second stage of the 2011 Tour du Haut Var, Jérémy Roy (FDJ) was in front pretty much all day, but an animated final part of the race saw Julien Antomarchi (VC La Pomme Marseille) winning the stage. Thomas Voeckler (Team Europcar) managed to get rid of Samuel Dumoulin (Cofidis) in the final part of the stage and thus won the general classification of the race.

This first stage between La Croix Valmer and Grimaud (168.8 km) was won by Samuel Dumoulin.
