    Oliver Zaugg (Team Leopard-Trek), remarkable winner of the Tour of Lombardy 2011Il Lombardia 2011 was won by Oliver Zaugg of the Leopard-Trek Team. The Swiss rider, who was in a solo attack from the last climb of the race, thus took his very first pro victory!

    The summary of the Tour of Lombardy 2011

    The 105th edition of the Tour of Lombardy, or Il Lombardia according to its new name, started this morning at 11AM in front of the Palazzo Lombardia in Milan under a slightly cloudy sky but with the sun showing up regularly to announce a beautiful autumn day.

    After several unsuccessful attempts, including one in which we already saw Yukiya Arashiro (Team Europcar) in front, the Japanese rider of the French time was again the one who initiated a 6 men strong breakaway once they were 45 kilometers in the race.     The Tour of Lombardia 2011 race route on Google Maps/Google Earth and the route and time scheduleThis Saturday, the 15th of October 2011, one of the very last races of the 2011 season of the UCI cycling calendar, the Tour of Lombardy 2011, will take place.

    Il Lombardia will have a new race route this year, still starting in Milan but this time going towards Lecco and without doing the tour around the Como Lake. I think it was therefore about time to present you the Google Maps/Google Earth map of this race course, together with the time and route schedule and the race profile.
