The Tour de France 2014 will take place from 5 until 27 July 2014.
Just before the start of the Vuelta a España 2014, the Tour of Spain which will start this Saturday in Jerez de Frontera, I offer you the unique opportunity to do a visual flashback on the Tour de France 2014.
From a sports perspective it was a very nice Tour, a bit less from a weather perspective, but despite that there were numerous nombreuses to produce some nice images, both in photo and in video!
In this article you'll of course not find any video images of the race itself (sorry for that, if you expected to find that here) since they are exclusive to the official broadcasters of the Tour de France. However, you'll find photos, taken at the starts or the finishes of the stages and sometimes on the side of the road for certain stages and especially the individual time trial at the end of the Tour. You'll also find videos w ...
The forelast stage of the Tour de France 2014, which will take place today, Saturday 26 July, will be an individual time trial between Bergerac and Périgueux.
Hereunder you'll find the list of participating riders for this race against the clock, but also the start times of the different riders (every 2 minutes for most of them and every 3 minutes for the last 10 riders).
Furthermore, you can discover the race route of this time trial in detail, on Google Maps, but also with a virtual fly-over in video!
The start order and times
The riders will, as usual, start in the reverse order of the general classification, starting at 10.51AM, for a race against the clock over 54 kilometers between Bergerac and Périgueux, on a slightly hilly route.
As usual, velowire.com allows you to discover all details of the race route of this 101ème edition of the Grande Boucle, on Google Maps/Google Earth, and this time this exclusive content is already available at about two weeks from the start of the Tour de France 2014.

Some preliminary information ...
Some of you might have already discovered the race route on Google Maps as published by the organisor of the Tour de France on this official website of the race.
Due to a lack of time, this article has not been translated in English. Below you can find the French version which might provide you some interesting information anyway.
We now have less than 3 weeks to go before the Tour de France 2014 starts in Yorkshire, more precisely in Leeds. The riders of the Tour will thus ride on the roads of England, France and Belgium in order to connect Leeds to Paris in 3,663.5 kilometers.
Doing so, they'll come by huge numbers of fans, cyclign fans, Tour de France fans or in some cases even only fans of the advertising caravan which animates the roads of the Tour between one and two hours before the race! You'll thus be around 12 million to see the Tour come by on the side of the road!
But of course, there's fans .. and super fans! And ŠKODA is looking for the latter category on skodafantour.com!
There was quite some news in the cycling world this week, like for example the announcement of La Course by Le Tour de France, a new women's race, the first informations about Paris-Roubaix 2014, but also the first edition of the Dubai Tour and the start of the cycling season in France for example.

A balanced Tour de France, between original start, cobble stones, 3 mountain areas (with a big Vosges accent, a short visit of the Alps and a big dose of Pyrenees) and only one time trial stage, that's how we can qualify the Tour de France 2014 race route.
Let's have a more detailed look ...
The Tour de France 2014 in digits
As usual, the race route of a Grand Tour can be presented in different ways and one of the interesting ways to look at it is the statistical aspect.
