Laurent Pichon wins the Classic Loire-Atlantique 2017 ahead of Thomas Boudat - summary

It doesn't happen very often that the Classic Loire Atlantique ends in a bunch sprint, but that's what almost happened this afternoon in La Haye Fouassière, even though Laurent Pichon (Fortuneo-Vital Concept) didn't want that to happen when he got away from the peloton in the last few kilometers, to finally win the race with only a few meters ahead on the second placed rider, Thomas Boudat (Direct Energie)!

Flashback on the prize award ceremony of the Coupe de France PMU 2015

Last Friday, Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis, solutions crédits) was rewarded with a prize as the winner of the Coupe de France PMU 2015 (a calendar which gathers 16 one day races in France). After 2012 with Samuel Dumoulin, who also won it in 2013 for the AG2R La Mondiale team, and Julien Simon last year - this prize thus remains in the Cofidis team.

It was last week, the forelast race of the Coupe de France PMU 2015 took place in and around Isbergues in the north of France. The 69th edition of the Grand Prix d'Isbergues saw several breakaways give it a try, but finally it ended in a bunch sprint which decided the race's result and Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis) turned out to be the fastest rider in this sprint on the finish line.

Grand Prix d'Isbergues 2015: Nacer Bouhanni winner and new leader of the Coupe de France PMU!

The 69th edition of the Grand Prix d'Isbergues took place under a bright blue sky today, starting at the end of the morning, for a bit over 200 kilometers on the roads of the north of France. While several breakaways animated the race, the victory was finally decided in a bunch sprint and Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis) was the one who won it.

The rider of the team which is based in the Nord department also took the lead in the individual classification of the Coupe de France PMU (of which the Grand Prix d'Isbergues was the forelast race), passing upfront Baptiste Planckaert (Roubaix Lille Métropole) and Pierrick Fédrigo (Bretagne-Séché Environnement) who led the classification before this race!

Alexandre Geniez takes the victory in the Tro Bro Léon 3 days after his anniversary

Alexandre Geniez (FDJ) celebrated his birthday 3 days ago at the Grand Prix de Denain. In the breakaway during that race in the north of France, the rider from the south of France didn't manage to take the race victory as his birthday present. By getting in the breakaway of the day and being present in almost all the right attacks, the rider of the FDJ team offered himself a birthday present 3 days late!

In the 38th edition of Cholet Pays de Loire, a very big breakaway group was formed early in the race and the riders who were not part of this group saw their possible hopes for victory go away rather quickly. Last year, Alexis Gougeard (AG2R La Mondiale) won the Classic Loire Atlantique getting a way from a big breakaway a few kilometers from the finish.
