This weekend the 2nd and 3rd race of the Coupe de France PMU 2013, the Classic Loire Atlantique and Cholet-Pays de Loire 2013, took place in the west of France. A weekend with two French races which happened in parallel to Milano-Sanremo which had to face quite extreme weather conditions and which was won by Gerald Ciolek (MTN-Qhubeka).

This Italian race allowed Sylvain Chavanel (Omega Pharma-QuickStep), thanks to his 4th place, to climb up to the first place in the current UCI WorldTour classification.

In this article you'll find, in two videos, an animated flashback on these two French races, the Classic Loire Atlantique in the hail and rain and Cholet-Pays de Loire with a timid sun.

On Saturday, the Classic Loire Atlantique was animated by a group of 17 riders in a breakaway which was taken back quite late before Edwig Cammaerts (Cofidis solutions crédits) took a solo victory.

The video images of Cholet Pays de Loire 2013

The next day, Justin Jules (La Pomme Marseille) was still the leader of the Coupe de France PMU 2013 classification, thanks to his 5th place the day before (after his victory in the Grand Prix La Marseillaise) and he would keep that position after the race around Cholet.

In this race, a group of 5 riders was formed quite rapidly after the start of the race and finally a rider out of this group, Damien Gaudin (Europcar), won the race.
