The final of the last stage of the Santos Tour Down Under 2011 was like a remake of last year's. Ben Swift (Team Sky) won the sprint ahead of his team mate Greg Henderson and Matt Goss (HTC-Highroad) finished third.
What's usually said about the leader of the general classification after the Willunga stage (that he'll win the Tour Down Under) has once again been verified because Cameron Meyer (Garmin-Cervélo) remains the leader of the general classifications, only 2 seconds (with the different bonus seconds being awarded) ahead of Matt Goss (HTC-Highroad).
The summary of the 6th stage of the Santos Tour Down Under in Adelaide
The stage between McLaren Vale and Willunga was the Queen stage of this Santos Tour Down Under 2011. Willunga Hill, often seen as the decisive climb of the TDU, was climbed twice but the stage ended in a sprint anyway. This sprint was won by the Spanish rider Francisco Ventoso (Movistar Team), with only a few centimeters distance on Michael Matthews(Rabobank). This last young rider seems to become a very promising sprinter after having won the 3rd stage on Thursday already!

You were expecting yet another sprint at the Santos Tour Down Under 2011? You were probably not the only one! This wasn't however the case since the early breakaway managed to continue until the finish and Cameron Meyer (Garmin-Cervélo) won the race.
With his 23 years, the Australian rider becomes the 4th (out of 4) stage winner of the Santos Tour Down Under 2011 under 25 years (after Matt Goss (24), Ben Swift (23) and Michael Matthews (20)).
