The list of participating riders in the 2011 Tour Down Under and their numbersThe Cancer Council Classic, won by Matt Goss was an appetizer to the Tour Down Under 2011 today.

The Tour Down Under 2011 itself will however only start next Tuesday. 133 riders will participate for 19 teams of 7 riders. In this article you'll find them all, with their numbers.

The participating riders in the 2011 Tour Down Under and their numbers

    Omega Pharma-Lotto

André GreipelAndré Greipel, often victorious in the Tour Down Under, will do his first season as a completely free sprinter this year. Indeed, while so far he either had to share the cycling calendar with his team mate Mark Cavendish (HTC-Highroad) or had to accept that the British rider was the primary sprinter of the team in races in which they participated both, he'll be a sprinter without internal competition in the Belgian team Omega Pharma-Lotto this season.

It is thus not very surprising that the German rider is the leader of the team in the Tour Down Under 2011 under the overseeing eye of directeur sportif Herman Frison.

    1/ Andre Greipel
    2/ Jurgen van de Walle
    3/ Adam Hansen

The Australian rider Robbie McEwen recently joined this team, after the horror scenario for his Pegasus Sports team which didn't get a Continental Pro licence (after having been denied a ProTeam licence before). McEwen thus is the home sprinter of the American team in this Tour Down Under.
