One week ago, the riders have been doing quite some kilometers on the ribins - the sand/stone roads - of the Tro Bro Léon 2015, 32nd edition of the race which is often compared to Paris-Roubaix and which thus carries the nickname of Hell of the West.

Alexandre Geniez (FDJ) celebrated his birthday 3 days ago at the Grand Prix de Denain. In the breakaway during that race in the north of France, the rider from the south of France didn't manage to take the race victory as his birthday present. By getting in the breakaway of the day and being present in almost all the right attacks, the rider of the FDJ team offered himself a birthday present 3 days late!

Under a generous sun, the Tro Bro Léon 2015 got off from Lannilis late this morning. Rapidly, three riders attacked, Dan Craven (Team Europcar), Benjamin Giraud (Team Marseille 13-KTM) and Julien Duval (Equipe Cycliste de l'Armée de Terre) but this leading trio didn't manage to stay ahead for long.

The Tro Bro Léon 2012 took place on Sunday afternoon under a shining sun and the ribins finally delivered an unknown but not really surprising winner: Ryan Roth of the Spidertech Powered by C10 team. Not really surprising since he's a former Canadian champion cyclocross (season 2000/2001 U23) and his experience as a cyclo cross rider probably helped him quite a lot in the ribinous today.

After the start of the race of the ribinous on Sunday morning une the concentrated eyes of Jean-Paul Mellouet (the creator of the race) we saw several attempts to break away turn out to nothing until the attack by 5 riders who really got away from the peloton at kilometer 20: Jacek Morajko for Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team, Remi Cusin for Team Type 1-Sanofi, Clément Koretzky and Pierre-Luc Périchon for the Team La Pomme Marseille and Benoit Jarrier for Véranda Rideau-Super U.
As announced in the previous article, this weekend will not only see the Amstel Gold Race taking place on Sunday, but also the Tour du Finistère on Saturday and the Tro Bro Léon on Sunday!
