As usual the French cycling season starts with the Grand Prix la Marseillaise which is therefore also known as the Grand Prix d'Ouverture ... This will again be the case in 2011 this Sunday when the race with start and finish in Marseille will be the start of the 2011 cycling season for many of the 136 participating riders.

In this article you'll find the race route of the Marseillaise in Google Maps / Google Earth and the list of participating riders with their number.

In the collection of important cycling races on Google Maps/Google Earth the Grand Prix Cycliste d'Ouverture la Marseillaise arrives, for the first time in 2011, as a newcomer. Not happy with the map published by the organisor of the race (here), I decided to make it much more accessible by providing a Google Maps/Google Earth version of it.

Below you can thus find the race route and the profile of this Grand Prix d'Ouverture!
