Tony Gallopin (Cofidis, le crédit en ligne) got the trophy for the Coupe de France ... in the Hippodrome of Vincennes! On Friday 4 November, the Ligue Nationale de Cyclisme - in collaboration with PMU as a sponsor - organised a quite special night at the Hippodrome of Vincennes as a prize-giving ceremony for the Coupe de France 2011. Tony Gallopin (Cofidis, le crédit en ligne), Romain Feillu (Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team), Sylvain Georges (BigMat-Auber93), Anthony Delaplace (Saur-Sojasun) and Romain Hardy (Bretagne-Schuller), as well as the whole FDJ team, have received prizes. After that, some legens of the cycling world, like Bernard Hinault or Bernard Thévenet have battled with the 5 first placed riders of the Coupe de France in a road-car race ... Riders and former riders in a horse race, you don't get to see that often!

Let's look back on this special night in video.

Marc Madiot (President LNC / Manager FDJ): « Globalisation starts in France »

For his speech as President of the LNC, Marc Madiot mainly insisted on the role of France in cycling, the media but also on tomorrow's talents ... « Hey Pat McQuaid »: « « Globalisation starts in France, with the Tour de France. The Tour is the barometer of cycling. ».

This video is quite long but we decided to share with you the whole prize-giving ceremony since you probably won't find these images elsewhere!

    Bernard Thévenet wins from Hinault!

Did you think Bernard Thévenet would never win a race anymore? ... Not true! The winner of the Tour de France in 1975 and in 1977 won the ... road-car race – together with a jockey - only millimeters ahead of another legend of cycling, Bernard Hinault. Yes, that's quite some names! Young riders like Romain Feillu or Tony Gallopin were far from able of beating them ...

At this occasion, velowire.com decided to share everything with you and give a look behind the scenes of this race: impressions of the participants before the start, all details of Sylvain Georges « machine », betting on the winner with Jérémy Roy and the race commented by Marion Rousse (cyclist at Vienne-Futuroscope and girlfriend of Tony Gallopin). All that to allow you to re-live this event!

    The bloopers of the night

At the end of the night, the riders of the FDJ team came together at the ground floor of the Hippodrome for an autograph session with the public. Well, that is ... as soon as you give them a felt-tip pen and some paper ... you can almost be sure it'll more be a drawing class than an autograph session ... Check out the bloopers!
