    The Paris-Tours 2011 race route on Google Maps/Google Earth and the route and time scheduleThis Sunday the 105th edition of Paris-Tours will take place between Voves in the Eure-et-Loir department and Avenue de Grammont in Tours.

    As you can see in the UCI cycling calendar, this Classic of the dead leaves is one of the last races of the season in France and the riders will thus want to show themselves for a last time before the well deserved winter break.

    Oscar Freire, the last sprinter on the Avenue de Grammont - winner of Paris-Tours 2010Paris-Tours 2010 was won today by Oscar Freire (Rabobank). A leading group of 8 riders finally exploded and the peloton completely got back together at 15 kilometers from the finish while the solo-attack by Geoffroy Lequatre (Team Radioshack) ended at 300 meters from the finish. The last Paris-Tours finish on the well known Avenue de Grammont thus ended in a sprint and this was won by the Spanish rider of the Dutch team.

    Paris-Tours 2009: Philippe Gilbert (Silence-Lotto) wins two times in row!It rarely happens in Paris-Tours, but Philippe Gilbert (Silence-Lotto) managed to do it today: to win the Classic of the falling leaves two times in row!
    He beats his compatriot Tom Boonen (Quick Step) on the finish line.


    Almost immediately after the start, after 9 kilometers, a leading group is formed by 10 riders. In this leading group we find Laszlo Bodrogi (Team Katusha), Cédric Pineau and Martin Elmiger (AG2R La Mondiale), Matthieu Ladagnous (Française des Jeux), Damien Gaudin (Bbox Bouygues Telecom), Mathew Hayman (Rabobank), Jean-Luc Delpech (Bretagne-Schuller), Aart Vierhouten (Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team, who did his last race today), Jonathan Thiré (Auber 93) and Tom Veelers (Skil-Shimano).
    The 10 manage to create a gap of up to 7'45" with the peloton.

    The start from Chartres

    Since 1994 Paris-Tours always started in Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines. On 9 September however, A.S.O. signed a contract with the Eure-et-Loir department for the organisation of the start of Paris-Tours from 2009 till 2013.
