In a press release, UCI announced that the Mayor and municipal representatives of the Dutch host city Eindhoven yesterday decided to end their involvement in the organisation of the event.
Without the city's contribution the organisation becomes impossible and the Eindhoven team time trial - initially planned in the UCI ProTour calendar on 22 June 2008 - has now been removed from the 2008 calendar.
UCI will consult the teams to examine whether the race should be replaced by another team time trial or another type of event.
