The start list of Paris-Nice 2016 and the start order and -times of the prologueTomorrow, Paris-Nice 2016 will start with the 6.1 kilometer long prologue in the streets of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, followed by 7 stages in line which will bring the riders to the usual finish in Nice (see the Paris-Nice 2016 race route on Google Maps).

Except unexpected circumstances, 175 riders will come to the start (22 teams of 8 riders each, except for Lotto-Soudal which has one less) tomorrow and in this article you'll find all of them, including their bib numbers, but also the start order and -times of the prologue in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine.

The participants list of Paris-Nice 2016

175 riders coming from 35 different countries (the main nationalities are: 40 French riders, 16 Belgian riders, 16 Spanish riders, 15 Dutch riders and 8 Italian riders) will get off the start ramp starting at 11.44AM tomorrow morning.

The youngest rider will be the Norwegian Odd Christian Eiking (FDJ) who will discover Paris-Nice for the first time at 21 years old, while the oldest rider will be the Italian Matteo Tosatto (Tinkoff) who will celebrate his 42nd anniversary in two months!

The big names of Paris-Nice 2016 will probably be Richie Porte (BMC Racing Team), Alberto Contador (Tinkoff) and why not Romain Bardet (AG2R La Mondiale).

    BMC Racing Team

Richie PorteAs last year's winner, Richie Porte will have bib number 1, this time for his new team BMC Racing Team (last year he won Paris-Nice for Team Sky).

He will get help from several experimented riders:

    1 - PORTE Richie Australia
    2 - BURGHARDT Marcus Germany
    3 - GILBERT Philippe Belgium
    4 - HERMANS Ben Belgium
    5 - MOINARD Amaël France
    6 - SCHÄR Michael Switzerland
    7 - VELITS Peter Slovakia
    8 - WYSS Danilo Switzerland

    Team Katusha

Simon ŠpilakFor Katusha Simon Špilak will wear the first bib number and in this team we'll also find the sprinter Alexander Kristoff, who already won 5 stages this season (!):

    11 - ŠPILAK Simon Slovenia
12 - BYSTRÖM Sven Erik Norway
    13 - GUARNIERI Jacopo Italy
    14 - KOCHETKOV Pavel Russia
    15 - KRISTOFF Alexander Norway
    16 - LAGUTIN Sergey Russia
    17 - MORKOV Michael Denmark
    18 - ZAKARIN Ilnur Russia

    Lampre-Merida

Rui CostaThe former World Champion, Rui Costa, will be the leader of the Lampre-Merida team in this 74th edition of Paris-Nice. In this team we'll also find the brother of the Portuguese rider, Mario Costa:

21 - FARIA DA COSTA Rui Portugal
22 - FARIA DA COSTA Mario Portugal
    23 - BONO Matteo Italy
    24 - CIMOLAI Davide Italy
25 - GRMAY Tsgabu Gebremaryam Ethiopia
    26 - KUMP Marko Slovenia
    27 - MEINTJES Louis South-Africa
    28 - PIBERNIK Luka Slovenia

    Team Sky

Geraint ThomasThe team which won Paris-Nice several times will start the Race to the sun without Richie Porte who thus now rides for BMC, and its leader will be Geraint Thomas:

    31 - THOMAS Geraint Great-Britain
32 - BOSWELL Ian United States
33 - HENAO MONTOYA Sergio Colombia
34 - NIEVE ITURRALDE Mikel Spain
    35 - ROCHE Nicolas Ireland
    36 - ROWE Luke Great-Britain
    37 - STANNARD Ian Great-Britain
    38 - SWIFT Ben Great-Britain

    Lotto-Soudal

In the Belgian Lotto-Soudal team there's one missing rider because despite the fact that Marcel Sieberg was on his way to Paris-Nice yesterday the name of the German rider is finally not on the start list.

Tony Gallopin will try to get a good place in the general classification for the Belgian team but the team also counts on André Greipel who will try his chance in the sprint.

Don't try to find the Lotto-Soudal team in red in this Paris-Nice 2016 because for one week the team will change its kit for a grey/blue kit with the Fix ALL brand instead of Soudal (one of the brands of the Soudal group) as shown by Tony Gallopin in this video:

    41 - GALLOPIN Tony France
42 - BAK Lars Ytting Denmark
43 - DE GENDT Thomas Belgium
    44 - GREIPEL André Germany
    45 - HANSEN Adam Australia
    46 - VANENDERT Jelle Belgium
    47 - WELLENS Tim Belgium

    AG2R La Mondiale

Romain BardetRomain Bardet is definitely the leader of the AG2R La Mondiale team, mainly after his good performance on the Green Mountain in the Tour of Oman. The French rider ecognises that the Madone d'Utelle will be the decisive finish in this Paris-Nice 2016, but he could also try his chance on the Mont Brouilly!

Except for Ben Gastauer, the team is entirely French:

    51 - BARDET Romain France
    52 - CHEREL Mikael France
    53 - DOMONT Axel France
    54 - GASTAUER Ben Luxembourg
    55 - GAUTIER Cyril France
    56 - GOUGEARD Alexis France
    57 - LATOUR Pierre-Roger France
    58 - VUILLERMOZ Alexis France

    78 - VALGREN Michael Denmark

    Etixx-QuickStep

Tom BoonenIn the Belgian team we'll see whether Tom Boonen is back in shape for the sprint but the team will probably mainly count on Marcel Kittel in case of a sprint finish. The team also has Niki Terpstra on the start list:

    81 - BOONEN Tom Belgium
82 - DE LA CRUZ David Spain
    83 - KITTEL Marcel Germany
    84 - MAES Nikolas Belgium
    85 - SABATINI Fabio Italy
    86 - SERRY Pieter Belgium
87 - TERPSTRA Niki The Netherlands
    88 - VANDENBERGH Stijn Belgium
