The Dwars door Vlaanderen 2023 race route on Open Street Maps and in Google Earth ... and the participants listAfter the Classic Brugge De Panne (won by Jasper Philipsen), the E3 Saxo Classic (in which the victory was for Wout van Aert) and Ghent-Wevelgem this weekend (won by Christophe Laporte, in a perfect teamwork with his Jumbo-Visma team mate, Wout van Aert), the Belgian classics will continue this Wednesday with Dwars door Vlaanderen, a 183.7 kilometer long race which contains in its second part several climbs and cobble stones sections which might be decisive for the race.

In this article you'll find the race route on Open Street Maps/Google Earth for Dwars door Vlaanderen 2023.

This Wednesday morning, the riders and followers of the classics will meet in Roeselare for the start of Dwars door Vlaanderen 2023.

From there, they'll go on to Ardooie and Rijsseleind before continuing south, via Ingelmunster, and onwards to the east and south-east, via Oostrozebeke, Waregem (where the finish will take place later on) and via Anzegem towards the first cobble stones section, the Varentstraat.

Via Kluisbergen it'll be an almost straight line north-east which will bring them to Oudenaarde, and to the first climb, the Volkegemberg, immediately followed by the second cobble stones section, the Holleweg. Direction Horebeke and onwards to the south towards Wolfgat before they go on west, towards the feeding zone and the second 2nd climb, Hotond. A short back-and-forth south, west, north will give access to the 3rd climb, Knokteberg-Trieu, where the first part of the race drawn in light blue ends.

The green part will first go on north-east before it turns towards the 4th climb, Kortekeer. This is again followed by a short bit in north-east direction before they turn on the Maria-Borrestraat, 3rd cobble stones section. From Etikhove, the riders will continue east to get back on the first part of the race route, which they'll briefly follow but rapidly they'll leave that track, to get on the 5th climb, Berg Ten Houte, rapidly followed by the 6th, the Kanarieberg. They'll again briefly get on the first part of the race route going west but rather quickly they'll again leave it to go briefly south towards Ronse, and west onwards to get back on the first part of the race route again. Direction another climb of the Knokteberg-Trieu (which will be the 7th climb at that time) they'll get on the red part, the last part of the race route.

After the 7th climb they'll go east and climb the Hotond in opposite direction from the first climb, which will be the 8th climb of the race at that time. Not much later they'll get off the first part of the race route in opposite direction to go on north towards Nijkerke, where they'll again get on the second part (green part) of the race route, to get back on the cobble stones section in the Maria-Borrestraat (which will this time be the 4th section). Instead of continuing east, they'll go on north, and climb the 9th hill, Ladeuze.

After a new visit of Oudenaarde, they'll get on the 5th cobble stones section, Doorn, and rapidly afterwards on the 6th, the Huisepontweg. On this section and what follows afterwards they'll go west, via the Nokereberg, 10th and forelast hill of the race, before they get on the final circuit before the finish. They'll start it going north but will rapidly turn westwards, via the cobble stones section of the Herlegemstraat (7th). After the visit of Waregem, they'll turn back east towards Nokere where they'll climb the 11th and last hill, just before they get back to the point where they initially reached the final circuit. After a last visit of the Herlegemstraat cobble stones section (8th and last), there might be a breakaway group which goes off for the last time towards Waregem, where the finish will take place after a small final turn from the race route which was followed there during the first part of the race.
