The next French race is already knocking on the door, with the 2026 Tour de la Provence taking place over three days, from Friday to Sunday.

As its name suggests, it takes place in the neighboring territory of the Etoile de Bessèges - Tour du Gard, won last week by Ewen Costiou. The three stages of the 10th edition cover a large part of Provence, covering 543 kilometers.

Let's take a closer look at these three stages below, on OpenStreetMap maps, in Google Earth and with the stage schedules and profiles.

1/ Friday, February 13, 2026 - Marseille > Saint-Victoret - 163 km

The first stage of the 2026 Tour de la Provence will start in Marseille, at the Orange Vélodrome, where the Grand Prix Cycliste de Marseille La Marseillaise finished two weeks ago with Bryan Coquard taking the victory.

The stage then heads east to Méounes-lès-Montrieux, passing through the first intermediate sprint. After a short detour to the north, the route will then head back in the opposite direction, passing through the Mazaugues climb (2nd category, 7.6 km at 4.5%) and the Pas de la Couelle (3rd category, 6 km at 4.2%), Trets and Gardanne, and the intermediate sprint in Bouc-Bel-Air. Passing through Les Pennes-Mirabeau, the race then reaches Saint-Victoret, where the victory of this first stage will be decided.

2/ Saturday, February 14, 2026 - Forcalquier > Montagne de Lure - 174.9 km

The second stage on Saturday will start in Forcalquier, and a rather unusual route awaits the riders.

Pay close attention to the description and the arrows on the map to understand it properly (in order, the black arrows are followed first, then the red arrows, and finally the green arrows):

First, the race heads east, with the actual start at Pierrerue, before turning south just before the A51 and very quickly turning right again (black arrows) to return to Forcalquier, very close to the start. The riders then take (red arrows) the same route eastward but this time turn south (left) just before the previous fork, heading towards Sigonce and Fontienne.

This is where they arrive at what is actually considered to be the circuit for this stage, but unlike what we often see in stage races with a circuit, it is not quite a final circuit. The riders take it counterclockwise, towards Saint-Etienne-les-Orgues, where they turn left towards Lardiers and the climb up the Col de Buire (3rd category, 9.2 km at 2.9%).

They then begin the return journey to Forcalquier, where they compete in an intermediate sprint and immediately turn left (green arrow) to return to the insertion point on the circuit. They then continue the circuit with a full loop, but once back at the insertion point on the circuit, they begin another loop, this time heading straight on at Saint-Etienne-les-Orgues to climb Montagne de Lure to the Lure Station, where the victory of this second stage will be decided.

3/ Sunday, February 15, 2026 - Rognac > Arles - 205.1 km

From Rognac, the third stage heads north to the Col de Bonnieux (category 2, 7 km at 2.8%).

They then head towards Cavaillon, which they will bypass, and the riders will then compete for the intermediate sprint at Cheval Blanc. They then head towards Maussane-les-Alpilles and Les Baux-de-Provence, where they climb the Col de la Vayede (3rd category, 2.8 km at 3.6%).

They will then pass south of Beaucaire before turning left towards Arles, where an intermediate sprint will be contested on the first passage over the finish line and where the stage will be extended by a small loop southeast of Arles, where the finish of this final stage will then take place.
