Usually, the Grand Départ of the Tour de France is announced in November/December in the year which precedes the announcement of the race route (which means one year and a half before the start of the event). For the Tour de France 2018 nothing had however been announced so far and the rumours were not very precise concerning the possible locations for this Grand Départ.
