When can we find out about the stages?
| Ron Stuart | tuesday 03 January 2012 om 12:12:27
This is pathetic web site, as is the "Official" Web Site of the 2012 Tour of the Algarve.

@Ron, unfortunately the organisor of the race still hasn't released any information about the race and the stages.
@Mike, if you're talking about velowire.com as being a pathetic web site, I think you're making a mistake. You can see the richness of the information on this website at several places, but of course I -as the editor of this website- cannot make up information which is not available. Therefore, I hope you were making a joke when you were writing this. If not, it shows a pathetic behaviour of yourself since it's very easy to criticise but until proof of the contrary, it doesn't seem to me you've done something better on this ... Wouldn't it be great if people who allow themselves to criticise come up with a solution instead of freely and simply criticising someone else?
I agree the official website is a joke. There is no info available on the race which is a few weeks away and I have booked my flights from Ireland.Any help appreciated. I know the race usually starts at Albufeira but who knows for sure? Any info would be appreciated as I would like to know where to book my accommodation. Thanks folks.

Hi, Frank Togher I have been in contact with the Sky Team and they don't know yet either, they just suggested keep an eye on the Fan's Facebook page. The last two years the event has started outside the Algarve Stadium near Faro airport and finished at Albufeira, Gilbert one the stage last year.I would be surprised if it started anywhere different this time round. I usually arrive at least 1hr before offical start which is normally 11am assembly starts at 10am.
You can contact me via this website... http://burgauvilla.com/

If we are all talking about the "official" website which link is above (http://www.voltaalgarve.com/) and not velowire.com, I agree with you guys. It's kind of pathetic... Is it me or is it only in Portuguese? I wrote to these guys several times and the information I get is just so vague...
Does anyone know if the tour takes care of the accommodations for the medias? Thanks for your help:)

Hello everybody,
I just published the start- and finish cities of the different stages (source: Wielerland.nl).
I'm from Portugal and I'll also be travelling to see the Volta ao Algarve in February. I have to agree, the organization is really sloppy and their website is a joke. However, it has now been updated with some (not much) info about the parcours for the stages, and some contacts for media acreditation. I think that almost all of this is exclusively in portuguese, so if you need any help with translating the info there, or with travelling to Portugal in general, feel free to ask.

Am I right in thinking that the race start time each day is 11am as previous years? also any sign yet of the offical stage race sheets?
| Ron Stuart | monday 23 January 2012 om 20:37:35
The first stage starts at 12:00, stages 2, 3 and 4 start at 11:00 and the final time trial starts at 12:30. As far as I can see on the official website, there are no race sheets yet.

Would you do a favour and remove the apostrophe from videos in your drop-down list.
Thanks
