The Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2020 in Nice - the detailed race route of the two first stages
The programme of the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2020 starts right from Wednesday 24 June 2020 when the permanence and press center open in the Palais des Congrès et des Expositions Nice Acropolis. The next day, it will be the turn to the teams presentation which will take place on the Place Masséna in the city center of Nice.Up to the two stages starting and finishing in Nice on Saturday and Sunday, before the start of the 3rd stage from the Allianz Riviera stadium on Monday.

1/ Saturday 27 June 2020 - Nice > Nice - 170 km
This very first stage of the Tour de France 2020, starting in Nice and finishing in Nice as well, is referenced by Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O., the organisor of the Tour de France) as the Nice "midlands" stage. The format of this stage is quite exceptional for a Tour stage.Indeed, the race route is made up of 2 laps of a short circuit north of Nice, via Aspremont before turning towards Castagniers and following the Var river to get back to Nice, and a big circuit which is done once, still north of Nice but which goes up more north than Aspremont, up to Levens before it gets back down south towards La Roquette-sur-Var, Saint-Martin-du-Var and les Moulins, from where the riders go back down south following the same roads as for the first 2 laps, down till the finish in Nice.
Two crossings of the finish line will thus precede the one where the stage victory will be decided, maybe in a bunch sprint (the last 25 kilometers of the big circuit are flat) or not?

2/ Sunday 28 June 2020 - Nice > Nice - 190 km
The second stage of the Tour de France 2020 will also start in Nice and finish in Nice as well, and it's referenced to by Amaury Sport Organisation as the Nice "highlands" stage. This stage goes off in the opposite direction from the first one (westwards and then north instead of leaving east and north as for the first stage) and goes up way above Levens in the area above Nice. It is indeed only close to Rimplas that the race route of this second stage turns east, to go find the climb of the Col de la Colmiane at 1,500 meters altitude (which is also known as the Col Saint-Martin and which was previously climbed in the Tour de France in 1973 and in 1975 and which was on the programme of the 7th stage of Paris-Nice in 2017). Via Saint-Martin-Vésubie the riders then start their way back to Nice via La Bollène-Vésubie and the Col de Turini. Getting close to Nice, the riders will continue their trip and the stage ends in the same way as what we are used to see in Paris-Nice: on the Col des Quatre Chemins they first take the road which brings them to the Col d'Eze before they get back there because, after a first crossing of the finish line, they'll take one of the 3 other roads, to go back towards Nice and its famous Promenade des Anglais where we'll know who's the winner of this second stage of the Tour de France 2020. We'll also see who are the riders who lose time right from this second stage or, as the organisor of the race says: the first losers will already be noticed!Taking a look at the profile of this stage, it is most probably that it will lead to a change in the general classification and thus to the one who's wearing the Maillot Jaune or yellow jersey!

the teams presentation which will take place on the Place Masséna in the city. Will there be tickets for this event or is it first come first served or is it people like the politicians and senior team leaders who are invited. I would like a ticket, please!!!

Last year, in Brussels, the access to the teams presentation was free. Since it'll again be on a public place this year (in Nice, in France), we can assume it'll again be free access.
However, in order to be sure I guess you'll still have to wait a bit!

Do you have any informations about the Grand Départ of the TdF 2020, the presentation of the teams on the Place Massena in Nice, the regime for the spectactors during the stages?

@Manfred #4 : for now I didn't see any specific information about the teams presentation. What I do know is that the teams presentation is still planned to be on the Place Masséna but it might be easier to see the riders on their 1.3 km long trip around this place.
That trip will start on the Quai des Etats-Unis at the Opéra de Nice and going eastwards, they'll turn left and again left, on the Cours Saleya going westwards, Rue Saint-François de Paule and turn right on the Rue Jacques Médecin which will bring them to the Place Masséna where they'll be presented on the podium. After that they'll turn left on the Avenue de Verdun which will bring them back to the Promenade des Anglais where the trip ends.
As for the stages, the rules for spectators are simple, following the "2 0 2 0" rules which apply on all cycling races in France currently:
2 - at least 2 meters distance from the riders
0 - no autographs/signatures from the riders
2 - protection measures: use alcohol-based hand rub and wear a mask
0 - no selfies with the riders
There might be specific measures for accessing some parts of the side of the road of the stages, especially in the mountains, but these will probably be indicated locally.
Hello @Manfred #4 : the city of Nice has announced the conditions for presence at the teams presentation.
Due to the coronavirus measures, only 500 people can assist to this event. Assisting to the event is free and to be one of those lucky 500, you need to register through this online form. Registering doesn't guarantee access but allows you to participate in a ballot which will select the people who can assist to the presentation. When registering, you can indicate you'll be up to 5 people assisting to the event.
