Following the design of the Apple website, Greenpeace has launched its campaign and website Green my Apple.

The website, which starts with the text 'We love Apple. Apple knows more about 'clean' design than anybody, right?' is aimed at asking Apple to produce its products in a greener way. Greenpeace indicates that Apple still uses toxic chemicals in its different products. These chemicals are said to be dangerous for the environment and thus for people at places where Apple's products finally end up after their normal use. Pictures of children in countries like China and India this message are used to support this message.

Greenpeace asks Apple through this website to
- remove the worst toxic chemicals from their products and production lines
- offer and promote free 'take-back' for all their products everywhere they are sold

Greenpeace uses a friendly approach on this website by saying that Apple is actually a very cool company with great products, but that we should be able to expect from such a company a better approach of 'clean' production lines. We can for example read on this website: We're not asking for just 'good enough.' We want Apple to do that 'amaze us' thing that Steve does at MacWorld: go beyond the minimum and make Apple a green leader..

Via the website anyone can send an e-mail to Steve Jobs - Apple's boss - about this issue, but also create a T-shirt for this campaign, a video or even an alternative text for a speech by Steve Jobs.

  1. Omdat je zo graag reactie wilde..... Eigenlijk vind ik t een soort van plagiaat wanneer de vorm en lay-out van andermans site wordt "gekopieerd", maar aangezien het een actie betreft waarmee men Apple meer milieubewust wil laten worden en t dient als soort van eye-opener heb ik er niet zo'n problemen mee. En als Apple dat wel heeft, dan spannen ze wel een zaak aan.... Op die manier krijgt Greenpeace dan ws ook nog de publiciteit die ze wil, dus dat zijn dan 2 vliegen in 1 klap!!
