Indeed, the "Boucles du Sud Ardèche" saw its name change and become the Classic Sud Ardèche (the race which will take place this Sunday 25 February 2013) and saw the birth of its smaller sister, the Drôme Classic, which will take place this Saturday 24 February 2013.

Together with the cyclosportive "La Classic du Rocher" these races are united under the name "Les Boucles du Sud Ardèche" and in this article you'll find the race route of these races on Google Maps/Google Earth.

Saturday 24 February 2013 - La Drôme Classic - 193.8 km

Because of snow, the very first edition of La Drôme Classic has been cancelled. You can discover below all information about what should have been the race route for this new race.

The very first edition of La Drôme Classic will take place around the city of Montmeyran.

It'll start with a loop on the west side of the city (23.8 km) before a return to the start for 5 laps on circuit mainly south of Montmeyran (5 x 32.9 km). In this circuit, the riders will each time climb the Côte d'Allex, the main climb of this race. The final loop is quite short because, from the start/finish location, it will go north and will cut off from east to west immediately after the northern part of the main circuit of the race to go back to the start which will be the finish line at that time (5.5 km).

The total distance of this race will thus be 193.8 kilometers.

Hereunder you'll find the time- and route schedule, the profile and the race route on Google Maps for this race. On the map, the different loops are indicated with different shades of purple. Click on each of the images to open them.

Sunday 25 February 2013 - La Classic Sud Ardèche - 197.8 km

The second part of the weekend in the Drôme/Ardèche area will see a new edition of La Classic Sud Ardèche-Souvenir Francis Delpèche (formerly known as Les Boucles du Sud Ardèche).

The fictive start will be in Bourg Saint Andéol but the race will first go north to go find the real start in Saint Montan. From there, the peloton will go back south towards Bourg Saint Andéol where the riders will turn west via the Côte du Ranc Pointu and the Côte du Serre de Tour. These two climbs are followed a bit further by the Col de la Serre and, when getting closer to the finish city, by the Côte du Vignal and the Côte de Chapias.

In the final circuit around Ruoms, the riders will find two more climbs, the Rocher de Sampzon and the Côte de la Vignasse, which they'll climb 3 times since the final circuit will be done 3 times.
